A little bit about me

I am a 2021 MA and BA graduate from Stanford University. I have a background in Psychology and Digital Media Communications research and have recently transitioned into UX Research from a background in marketing and academic psychology research. I have experience in social media marketing and brand strategy which has given me an eye for design and experience in copywriting while providing me a user experience lens from the marketing point of view. I am extremely empathetic, passionate about psychology and understanding human motivations, and a quick learner of new skills.

Research Oriented

I'm new to the field but have been invested in research practice for years

A Master's Thesis on Adolescent UX of Zoom

What if your users' pain points for an app are headaches, anxiety, inability to focus, and body dysmorphia? For my thesis as a Master's Student in Stanford's Media Studies / Communications program, I explored the use of Zoom in classrooms. I examined how the everyday use of Zoom for long periods for students in middle and high school during the COVID-19 pandemic could be maladaptive for students' psychological growth and wellbeing. The solution factors for "zoom fatigue" were UX design alterations like:

  • reformatting the placement of the self-view window to limit distracting mirror checking

  • default presentation of screens on the student's screen as a primary view of the speaker only to mimic classroom norms

When I'm Not Working

Talk about empathy! I have been riding horses and training dogs my whole life making me a huge animal person and I have been ingrained to try to understand others through their behavior and foster collaboration. I even discovered my love of psychology by starting my academic career in animal behavior studies.
